1 week or 2 week Basketball Summer Camp in July in Vitoria (Spain). Basketball Camp for junior and young players (aged 13 to 17) combine intensive Basketball instruction for medium and advaced basketball players with Spanish language lessons, activities, and excursions.
Spanish Language & Basketball Camp is the result of a partnership between ZadorSpain and Caja Laboral Baskonia Basketball Club and Sport Foundation.

Basketball players have a moderate level of supervision and campers will be expected to act mature and responsibly as, although they are accompanied the majority of the time, they will NOT be constantly supervised.

Basketball Camp objectives
Buesa Arena Pavilion, home of TAU BASKONIA Basketball Club, and BAKH, Sports Center of Baskonia, are the premises for the Basketball Camp.
Both sportive centers, placed one just in front of the other, are situated on the East of Vitoria’s outskirts facing a beautiful, safe and quiet Park in the Green Belt of the city.
Buesa Arena offers dressing rooms, bathrooms, common rooms, TV room, game area, coaches area, dining room, classrooms and basketball court for Night Time basketball.
The BaKh houses 3 basketball courts (FIBA dimensions) for daily instruction, a fitness area, swimming pools (outdoor and indoor), restaurants, and cafés.
Basketball skills development Camp with personalized, individual instruction in all phases of basketball, for players of intermediate and advanced skill levels:
• Drill groups organized by skill/age
• Appropriate drills for each player and drill group
• League games and scrimmages
In addition to basketball game fundamentals, the schedule will also include training for specific positions.
Each camper will practice on: game conditioning, footwork, individual defense, man to man pressure, dribbling and and ball handling, passing, offensive moves, shooting, screening and blocking, rebounding, one on one moves, 2on2 and 3on3, and, of course, matches.

Intensive basketball training program
Baskonia Basketball Club, most popularly known as TAU Ceramica outside Spain —name of the main sponsorof the Basketball Team since 1987— has a long history. Since the basketball club was founded in 1959, it has become one of the most important basketball teams in Spanish and European elite.
Current Champion of Spanish Basketball League, TAU Ceramica has also been present in the last four editions of the European Final Four.
The basketball club’s imposing history during the last decade is evidenced in the cups shown in its headquarters: 2 Spanish Basketball Leagues, 6 Spanish Basketball Cups, 4 Super-Cups, 4 consecutive editions of the EuroLeague Final Four…
There is no doubt that TAU Cerámica has a wide record of victories that is still growing thanks to the excellent job of the outstanding coaches at the club’s bench; to the progressive quality of its high-level players, who have left an important trace in the team’s history and in the city; to the correct and structured management of the Club’s heads; and, of course, thanks to the wholehearted support of its thousands of fans, who have always filled the Buesa Arena, TAU Ceramica great fort, both in good and in bad times.
The Team’s court is "Fernando Buesa Arena", with capacity for around 9,700 people. This pavilion will be the venue for some of the Basketball Camp sessions.
Jose Calderón, Andres Nocioni, Luis Scola, Jorge Garbajosa, or Tiago Splitter are some of the players that have been part of the Club lower categories.
But the basketball team is not the only one growing, the teams belonging to Baskonia Sports Foundation have new times in all categories: sub-10, sub-16, sub-17, and First Division.
Between 5 and 6 hours of basketball intense training with professional coaches and expert trainers.
Warm-up, 20-minute stations in the morning to develop individual skills, group and 1-on-1 training in the afternoon, and 5-on-5 games and leisure activities at night.
After an enjoyable and funny warm-up, players are divided into different groups or baskets for individual techniques and tactics and personalised basketball training.
In the morning, there are 3 different basketball training areas:
—Individual technique training, working individual and general basketball concepts; 6 baskets, each for a different fundamental: shooting, penetrations, dribbling, bouncing, ball handling, different skills on 1-on-0…
— Individual tactical training, that is, those issues that –although being individual- every player must have for success and a good mutual understanding: passing, direct screen, screen away, moves without ball...
— The last work area is personalized training, based on the participant’s needs or queries, with the following options: pivot moves, defensive work, rebound, different readings of offensive play (special moves)… At the end of the morning, each player has done 6 different sessions with different coaches, including the appropriate rest time.
The morning will end with a free-throw competition.
In the afternoon, group sessions on collective tactics: 3 sessions of 45 minutes. Fist, 3-on3 moves and, then, 4-on4 and 5-on-5 moves, progressively developing the participants’ basketball skills. Afternoon sessions end with a 1-on-1 qualifying round.
The programme is completed with night sessions: 3 days per week, with mini-leagues, shooting competitions… a lot of fun!

We know basketball players want to play basketball but we also know that there are many other things surrounding the basketball camp that are interesting for them.
Language, culture, monuments, gastronomy, the swimming pool…
After the basketball camp and during the weekend, all these things will make their Spanish and basket camp the perfect language immersion in Spain.
From Monday to Friday activities take approximately from 2 hours depending on the activity.
On Saturday, the half day excursion to Bilbao takes approx. 4-5 hours and on Sunday, the full day excursion to San Sebastian takes approx. 8 hours.
Guided visit of Vitoria to discover the most interesting places and have a first contact, guided visit of Old Town and Cathedral, bowling, night games with counsellors at the residence after dinner for younger participants and/or outing accompanied by counsellors for the older ones, latino dance night, shopping, tapas dinners...
Basketball players have 2 options for the accommodation:
Living with a Spanish family or Living in a Residence/Dormitory.
Both options have their own advantages and it really depends on what you are looking for.
If you live a Residence/Dormitory, you will live with other campers from Spain and from other countries but there is no single rooms. You will practice Spanish and other languages.
If you live in a Spanish family, you will have the opportunity to practice more Spanish language and to get to know Spanish culture. You will have a single room or a twin room for friends or for two students from the same family coming together.
The families are selected and visited regularly by our staff. In all of them, students will find a warm atmosphere that will help them get integrated into the family and city life very quickly. Families usually have children with a similar age to the students and most of them play basketball.
— to Barcelona for groups who have selected the option to arrive on 1st July and to pass the weekend before the Basketball visiting Barcelona. Transfer service from the airport is included in the price of the Barcelona Week End.
— to Bilbao for individual players who want to arrive on the 3rd July directly to the Basketball Camp.Bilbao airport is located 65 km from Vitoria city centre and it takes about 1 hour.

Basketball Summer Camp Price includes
Residence accomodation: Full board in both cases with breakfast, lunch, dinner and 4 snaks.
2 Spanish lessons per day or 2 basketball lectures from Monday to Friday (usually from 15 to 16:30) with the teaching materials for foreigners.
Basketaball Instruction from Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 20:00 (6 daily hours of basketball, time to rest, time for swimming or for a beach volleyball match…), with professional basketball coaches at one of the best European basketball Clubs, Caja Laboral Baskonia in Vitoria, Spain, the former champion of the Spanish Basketball League and one of the best four teams in Europe in the last years.
