Sailing Camp for juniors in Spain Summer 2010

 

 

2 week Sailing Summer Camp and Spanish program for juniors from 14 to 17 years old in July and August in Alicante (Costa Blanca region in Spain) is a program to learn sailing or to improve your sailing skills and enjoy a sailing holidays in Spain. Juniors will find they learn Spanish and sailing faster as well as have a great holidays in Spain.

Sailing Summer Camp program for teens includes:
Sailing lessons in a Sailing school from 10:00 to 13:00 (Monday to Friday, 15 hours per week) with Spanish teenagers.
3 Spanish lessons per day from Monday to Friday in the afternoon (usually from 16:00 to 18:30)
Full board host family accommodation
Cultural visits in Alicante, trips and other recreational activities, where teenagers will be accompanied by a group leader
1 full day excursion per week
Local transports tickets
Tickets for museums, monuments, amusement parks
Pick-up and drop-off service from Alicante airport
Medical, travel and accident insurance

Juniors have a moderate level of supervision and the students will be expected to act mature and responsibly as, although they are accompanied at least the first day, they will NOT be constantly supervised (walking to class, going to the sailing school, shopping…).

Much more than a city with mild climate all year long, sun and bright light, a beach in the city (10 minutes walking from the Spanish school), palm trees, promenades and white buildings, Alicante offers many places to visit.

All in all, Alicante is a Mediterranean city with a long history, impressive monuments such the Castle over the hill who dominates the city, Saint Nicholas Cathedral, the city Hall, interesting Museums and alive atmospehre.

Sailing School is in Alicante surrounding area and the distance from Alicante city centre to the Sailing School is covered by public transport and lasts approximately 10 minutes.

Zador Spanish language institute in Alicante occupies the first floor of a restored historical building, situated right in the Alicante city centre.

Alicante Spanish school is at 14, AVENIDA DE LA CONSTITUCIÓN, near the corner of the Alfonso X el Sabio Street, between the Central Marketplace and the city’s Principal Theatre.

The Spanish language centre is very well situated. It is 7-10 minutes on foot from the beach, in a very dynamic and commercial area of Alicante.

Language immersion courses for juniors and teens make use of an active, practical and communicative methodology to guarantee that youth students learn Spanish as fast and effectively as possible.

During the Spanish lessons, which are all in Spanish language, we insist on the communicative function of the language, developing your capacity to read and write, and above all to understand and speak Spanish language.

Intensive sailing instruction in a Nautical school

3 sailing lessons per day to learn sailing (Introductory sailing lessons) or to improve your sailing skills (Improvement Sailing lessons).

Nautical Club has a long history. It was founded in 1973 near Alicante by a group of enthusiasts of water sports trying to spread their passion for the sea. The Sailing school is located to the North of the Alicante bay, just near the Albufereta Beach, sheltered by the sea on a plain sea area.

The Sailing Club is an organisation officially approved by the Valencia Sailing Federation and, therefore, it follows the obligatory parameters in training, safety, material, and facilities: a trainer for every seven students, safety boats, own sea area limited by the coastal authorities, different boat types, safety coordinator, etc.

The Sailing and Windsurfing School has a qualified and highly experienced team; trainers are, in many cases, elite competitors with an important sports curriculum.

Nautical club has been chosen by the Puma Team of the Round the World Tour Alicante 2008 as the official Sailing school, recognising thus the school’s role in the world of sailing and its work promoting water sports. The Club facilities have showers and changing rooms, activity room, and classrooms for theory lessons with different audiovisual means, as well as café and restaurant.

2 week Youth Sailing Summer Camp and Spanish lessons for teenagers from 14 to 17 years old in July and August in Alicante.

3 sailing lessons every morning from Monday to Friday to learn sailing in GAMBA, LASER SB3· and LASER STRATOS sailboats: from the first week teens will be ready to start learning to navigate.

After a short theoretical introduction to the basis of sailing, such as: rigging up, wind, basic trimming, rudder, centreboard, capsize and recovery... sailers will be doing some basic sailing practices on the channel of the sailing school and right after, sail away on their Skif sailboat under the supervision of an instructor.

Participants start to sail divided into groups of 5-6 people in fast boats that will make them feel many new things.

Sailers finish the course sailing on their own boats in groups of 2-3 students or alone supervised by an instructor on a safety boat. Sailers get to experience the real excitement of the sea with this Coastal Sailing.

Alicante has excellent connections with other cities in Spain and Europe. The majority of the students arrive by plane.

The Alicante airport (El Altet) is located 11 km from Alicante and it takes about 30 min from the airport to Alicante city centre. There are domestic and international flights that connect Alicante to the main European and Spanish cities.

Transfer service from Alicante airport, bus station or train station is included in the price of Sailing camp. A representative of ZadorSpain will pick students up at the airport and bring them directly to their place of accommodation.
